Howard M. Ervin, CCIM

Co-Founder/Managing Partner

Howard M. Ervin is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Parallax Real Estate Services, LLC. Prior to forming Parallax Real Estate Services, Mr. Ervin was the Founder and President of HMM, LLC a Washington, DC based real estate investment services company. Prior to HMM, LLC, Mr. Ervin served as a Senior Associate with Marcus and Millichap Real Estate Investment Services of Washington, DC where he served as a Commercial Real Estate Broker. Mr. Ervin specialized in the evaluation and sale of commercial real estate assets along the east coast with transactions ranging from $1 - $25 Million. Prior to his tenure at Marcus and Millichap, Mr. Ervin served as a Commercial Real Estate Market Research Analyst at Costar Group, Incorporated.

Mr. Ervin earned a Masters Degree with Cum Laude distinction in Real Estate Finance and Development from Georgetown University. Mr. Ervin also holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Management from North Carolina State University.

Mr. Ervin is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He also holds a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Designation from the CCIM Institute and is an active member in the organization.

Co-Founder/Managing Partner

Joi A. Ervin is a Co-Founder of Parallax Real Estate Services, LLC. Prior to her involvement with Parallax Real Estate Services, Ms. Ervin served as Director of Community/Property Operations with Greystar Management for the Huntington at King Farm in Rockville, Maryland. Prior to her position at Greystar Management, Ms. Ervin served as a Property Manager with Pinnacle Realty for the Villages at Fort Belvoir - a Military Residential Facility located in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Preceding Pinnacle Realty, Ms. Ervin worked as a Property Manager with American Investment and Management Company (AIMCO) for the Lighthouse at Twin Lakes in Beltsville, Maryland.

Preceding AIMCO, Ms. Ervin began her career in property management in 1999 as a Leasing Consultant with Archstone Communities (now Equity Residential and Avalon Bay Communities) - two of the largest real estate investment trusts in the United States. Ms. Ervin spent several years with Archstone-Smith where she advanced to the position Property Manager. During her tenure at Archstone-Smith, Ms. Ervin was responsible for the management of several large multifamily communities in the Archstone-Smith portfolio within Virginia and North Carolina.

Ms. Ervin earned a Master's Degree with Cum Laude honors in Real Estate Development from Georgetown University. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from North Carolina Wesleyan College also with honors. Ms. Ervin is also an active real estate licensee in the State of Maryland.
